Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) is better known under her professional moniker Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. Her first single was released on the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she gained notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012, with the release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The singer continued uploading her tracks online through 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes, on Sweat It Out July 21st in 2015. In the following year, her music was circulating all over the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some possible references for Rihanna. She officially was signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. The singer appeared on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. On the 21st of October in 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed as part of her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening artist. In 2018, she was able to be a guest on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The first single, Whipped Cream, from the album dropped on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a the music video. Then on the 9th of November, she released another two singles, titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On the 13th of November two singles titled No One and Pedigree. She appeared with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16, and then she released the song in a solo version to her first album. The 20th of February, 2019, a music clip was released for the song. It has already received nearly three million views on YouTube in its first week. In December 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
