Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known as the character Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won the Emmy Award. She is also known for her performances in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney is the sole daughter of a United Auto Workers senior executive as well as a domestic worker was raised with her four siblings. In her early years she longed to be a court reporter. After graduating from high school, and moving to New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. In her teens, her first role as an actress was in the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Since then Delaney has been in a variety of TV dramas and films. Delaney has not lived a good or satisfying personal life. She is talented and stunning, has had to battle alcoholism before. She has also had marriages that been unsuccessful two times. Her custody was taken away from her son in 2005.
